Launching a collaborative effort to support migrant women survivors of trafficking
The EmpowerHER project officially launched in Naples with a consortium meeting gathering partners from Italy, Greece, and Spain. The kick-off was an important moment to align our shared vision, map responsibilities across Work Packages, and establish the foundations for coordinated action throughout the project.
EmpowerHER is an AMIF-funded project supporting the autonomy, protection, and socio-economic inclusion of third-country national women victims of trafficking. The project is coordinated by Project Ahead (Italy) and implemented in collaboration with Percorsi (Italy), Kinoniko EKAV (Greece), and Fundación Sieneva (Spain).
During the meeting, partners reviewed the project’s strategic objectives and Work Package structure, clarified roles and responsibilities, and aligned on the coordination, communication, and reporting mechanisms set out in the Grant Agreement. We discussed the implementation timeline, key KPIs, the ethical and safety protocols that will guide all activities, and the methodology behind the national and transnational study visits, workshops, training cycles, mentoring programme, and final dissemination events. The administrative and financial procedures were also explained to ensure transparency, compliance, and smooth execution across all countries.
This kick-off marked the beginning of a collaborative process aimed at strengthening support systems and enhancing pathways to autonomy for migrant women survivors across Europe.
More information is available on the EmpowerHER project page by Project Ahead: https://www.pja2001.eu/project/empowerher/
As coordinator, it is a pleasure to accompany this process and see the project we designed start to come to life through our collective work.
