SISY – Cultivating Youth Social Inclusion, Participation and Wellbeing through Sports is an Erasmus+ project that uses sport and non-formal education to foster inclusion, wellbeing, and active participation among young people with disabilities and learning difficulties. The project focuses on breaking barriers, creating accessible opportunities, and ensuring equal participation for youth with specific needs across Europe.

Why SISY?

Young people with learning differences such as ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), and Executive Functioning Disorders often face barriers in education, employment, and social life. SISY addresses these challenges by using sports as a tool to strengthen soft skills, foster inclusion, and enhance psychosocial wellbeing. Through sport-based interventions, the project builds key competences like teamwork, communication, and resilience — skills that are essential in today’s job market.

What SISY Does

  • Empowers Youth Workers with training, mentorship, and resources to integrate sports into informal and non-formal education.
  • Improves Employability by equipping young people with the skills needed for active participation in society and the labor market.
  • Builds a Community of Practice (CoP) connecting youth organizations across Europe to exchange knowledge, tools, and best practices.
  • Creates Real-Life Opportunities through multilingual training, tailored sports tournaments, and social events where youth can apply their skills.

Impact

At the local and national level, SISY equips youth workers with practical methodologies and certifications, while strengthening youth organizations with innovative resources.
At the European level, it fosters cross-sectoral cooperation and creates a sustainable framework to promote the inclusion and employability of young people with learning differences across Europe.
